Sligo is a sharp undulating right-handed track with a circuit of little more than a mile. There are only five fences to a circuit of the chase course which as usual is situated on the outside of the hurdles track.
Sligo is a very tricky track to ride and definately suits a specialist runner or one that races up with the pace. The ground can get ridiculousy boggy when the rains come and many horses just cannot handle the conditions. The fences are very easy and the rate of fallers is low at around 6% but the times are on the slow side on all tracks here which is probabaly a reflection of the ground conditions at the track.
