Kilbeggan is a sharp right-handed round track of one mile one furlongs in extent and is undulating with a particularly sharp turn after the second-last fence. The run in is a decent a enough one of around 300 yards and is uphill but this is not necessarily a suitable track for the galloping or a staying type. There are six fences to a circuit of the chase track which is on the outside of the hurdles track. The hurdles track is a really tight track and suits a special type of runner as it constantly turns and the undulations can be tricky to negotiate in the circumstances.
The fences are easy enough with the rate of fallers being around 9% however whilst the times for the NH flat races are average and the Chase races are on the slow side the hurdles times are very fast as they always go a fair lick on the short inside track.
